Until 2016, I lived in Kelowna in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, British Colombia. Previously I had emigrated from the UK in 2005, and I achieved Canadian Citizenship in 2012. I am a dual-national, holding both a Canadian and a UK passport. I currently live and work in Vancouver, consistently named as one of the top 10 places in the world to live and work.
I have a son, born in 2013, and was joined by a daughter in 2019.
I have enjoyed many water sports in the past, including kayaking and sailing, and have a PADI Advanced Open Water diver certification. I even built a pool in the back yard of my house in Kelowna! In Kelowna, I was involved with the BC Blind Sports chapter, in the Dragon Boat team where I was the captain for 2 years running.
I have a passion for reading and writing. As a teenager, I was awarded a “WH Smith Young Writer” commendation (twice), and in 1999, a poem I wrote was published in a book “The World vs Humans” (ISBN 0 75430 586 4, no longer in print).
I enjoy cooking for my whole family, making most of the meals from scratch, often using ingredients that I have grown in my own garden, and canned myself.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, I cycled to work, a round trip of just under 20km a day. I am now working from home full-time.
