BI Specialist
My experience with the SAP toolset, and that I was spending less time on traditional ETL Data Warehouse maintenance, meant that my role shifted focus to being more of a BI Specialist.
In this new position, I lead the technology side of new dashboard and scorecard projects, and participate in working groups. One of the major products completed in this time was a Managers dashboard. Using ETL/Data Warehousing techniques, we pulled data from Finance, Payroll and HR to provide a holistic view of an employees attendance record, a calendar of the work history (colour-coded to help identify trends) plus acomplete financial breakdown of a mangers portfolio.
I was the technical lead on the XI 3.1 to BI 4.1 project, including procuring, installing and configuring servers, negotiating contacts with SAP, and helping team members convert reports from Desktop Intelligence to Web Intelligence/Crystal Reports, and implementing new features like Monitoring and alerts.
